I grew up in Switzerland, where I completed a Master's in Computational Biology & Bioinformatics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, in Switzerland. My fascination with microbes and their ability to adapt to a wide range of environments, even extreme ones, led me to join a bioinformatic team at Agroscope, the Swiss Confederation's center of agricolture, nutrition and environment, where I worked on microbial genomics and proteomics.
I have now joined the Microbiome Dynamics group at Leibniz-HKI, where I will develop computational strategies to integrate and analyse large-scale microbiome datasets.
Outside of research, I love pole dancing, reading and writing (especially fantasy), and almost every activity that can be done on or in the water.
